What is 3D Printing?
3D printing is a type of rapid prototyping technology, also known as additive manufacturing. It is a technique of constructing objects by layer-by-layer printing based on a digital model file (usually an STL file), using a bondable material such as powdered metal or plastic.
Why choose 3D printing?
Additive manufacturing can offer more flexibility in geometry than subtractive manufacturing methods (CNC). Therefore, higher levels of complexity can be achieved more easily with 3D printing. Compared to injection molding, 3D printed parts do not require expensive molds, so such a technology can be a good option to produce parts at lower yields. Especially when the R&D team develops a new project, 3D printing can quickly construct a physical model.

What materials are suitable for 3D printing?
Basically, most plastics and metals can be used for 3D printing, and the commonly used materials are nylon, ABS, and photo-hardened resin.
